Bausch & Lomb MI60 Implant
An advanced aspheric implant which can be injected
through a 1.6mm incision.
Tecnis Aspheric Lens
The original aspheric implant with an
excellent track record.
Identification distance at 55 mph
In a simulated night-driving study, at 55
mph the TECNIS® Lens provided an
additional 45 feet of identification
distance and ½ second of reaction time
when compared to a standard lens.
Alcon Acrysof IQ
An aspheric implant with a blue light filter to
protect the retina. This may theoretically help to
reduce the development and progression of
macular degeneration.
Advanced Lens Implants
focusing ability of the eye. One of these higher order aberrations is called spherical aberration and
increases as we get older. Reducing this spherical aberration allows the light to be focused better and gives
you much sharper vision, improved contrast sensitivity and reduced glare which can improve vision when
driving at night.
Higher order aberrations such as spherical aberration can be measured with a technique called wavefront
analysis. Aspheric implants have been wavefront modified to reduce spherical aberration.
